Pinal Teach 21
Our mission is to provide resources to Pinal County teachers to assist in the implementation of 21st Century Standards Based Teaching and Learning.
Pinal Teach 21 is a resource developed for Pinal County teachers in an effort to implement 21st Century Standards Based Teaching and Learning. With the adoption of Arizona’s College and Career Ready Standards, there is an increased demand for rigorous and relevant teaching and learning in classrooms. Extending student thinking and applying knowledge and skills in real-world situations are critical components of these new standards. Authentic Learning and Project Based Learning are instructional approaches that best capture the intent and rigor of the new Arizona Standards. But with new instructional methods, there is a need for county teacher resources to assist them in successfully implementing the standards.
Pinal Teach 21 will serve as an information hub for best practices in education for teachers and administrators. It is also a workspace for developing authentic learning units aligned to Arizona’s College and Career Ready Standards, and a collaboration match service between teachers and industry partners. With real-world learning reaching outside of the classroom walls, teachers need industry partners who have expertise in the work setting, are willing to provide information resources, assist in unit project development, and serve as expert panel/reviewers of student products. Through collaboration efforts we are hoping to establish strong industry/teacher relationships that help prepare College and Career ready students.
